We are breaking world record at one of our festivals
Irish Festival building the world’s BIGGEST disco ball to break the world record
Biggest 90s-00s Disco Festival which takes place on June 25th, 2022 at Punchestown will attempt to break a world record by building the biggest disco ball in the world. Irish company Spectrum Productions has been tasked by the event organisers to build the disco ball that will measure greater than 10.33 meters which is the current world record size that was lifted into the air and rotated at the Bestival Festival in 2014.
So – how big is this disco ball going to be? Think the height of a telephone pole or putting one giraffe on top of another and you are close! Yep, it’s going to be that big and it is currently being built in a warehouse in Dublin.
The festival is back and bigger than ever before, with 15,000 disco fans set to dance across three stages in Kildare this summer.
Event marks the Biggest Disco’s first festival since 2019 and will feature some of the biggest acts of the 1990s and ’00s.

A spokesperson for the festival said “We have asked the team at Spectrum to build a giant disco ball to break the record – it will be nearly one tonne in weight and have over 1500 mirror tiles on it. It’s going to look spectacular when it’s hoisted into the air on the evening of the 25th June”.
Fans can expect an immersive experience featuring flash mobs, confetti, fire, CO2 jets, drone shows, fireworks, and many more surprises as over 40 acts from the ’90s and 00’s take to the stage.
